Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya is an innovative digital library launched by the Hon’ble Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. Developed under the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, it is designed especially for the children and youth of the nation. Serving as a comprehensive national repository of knowledge, literature, and stories, the platform aims to make reading joyful and accessible to all.

The project aims to cultivate a life-long passion for reading among the children, and kindle a sense of pride among the youth about India’s rich and diverse heritage, culture, and achievements. It also seeks to serve as a central hub of knowledge for generations to come.

Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya offers unlimited access to a diverse range of books, spanning genres like fiction, non-fiction, comics, rhymes and picture books. It also offers literature on highly sought after topics like Art and Culture, and Travel and Exploration. This library has been thoughtfully organised into four age-specific categories; 3-8 years, 8-11 years, 11-14 years and 14+ years, keeping in line with the vision of National Education Policy 2020.

True to its aim of accessibility, the Rashtriya e-Pustakalay app is available on Web, Android, and iOS platforms. With over 5000 non-academic titles from more than 200 respected publishers, and available in 22 Indian languages and English, Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya transcends all geographical and linguistic barriers to make sure every child experiences the joy of reading quality literature.

At ReP, our purpose is to ignite a lifelong passion for reading among India’s children and youth by building the most inclusive, accessible and culturally rooted free digital library. We are determined to work towards making quality literature available to every child, irrespective of their language and locations, empowering them to think critically, dream freely and grow meaningfully.
